El Salvadoran Surfer Vying for Tokyo Olympics Dies After Being Struck by Lightning
According to various reports, Katherine Diaz, a 22-year-old El Salvadoran surfer who was training for the Tokyo Olympics this summer, died last Friday after being struck by lightning.
Katherine was reportedly training in the water at El Tunco beach in El Salvador’s southwest area, according to local news outlet Cancha.
